Jan Chamberlain – Owen Sound Councillor

First of all, tell us a little about your background and overall platform in 100 words or less.

As a business woman, I know the importance of connections – among businesses, municipalities, agencies and individuals. From the Community Foundation to the Healthy Communities Coalition, I will continue my work for you on city committees and boards, bringing innovation and new partnerships to promote our economic and social well-being.

In Owen Sound, the greatest number of jobs outside health care and education are created by our next door neighbours. Entrepreneurs and small to medium sized businesses are the heart of our economy. I can help create these opportunities by working with business to develop dynamic city policies. Climate change and energy demands are creating new economic opportunities for those willing to accept them, and the city must be a leader in this innovation.
