City Seeks Input on Strategic Plan

The City of Owen Sound is seeking your input to help in the development of a new 5-year strategic plan. Members of Council want to know what you love about Owen Sound and what you think would improve the City.

The strategic planning process will assess the current conditions of the City by asking “Where are we now?” and will define a clear vision, mission, goals, objectives and priorities by asking “Where do we want to go?” Finally, we will determine “How do we get there?” by identifying specific initiatives to support implementation, and integrating mechanisms to monitor progress over time. As a result, the plan will be realistic, achievable and measurable.

The strategic plan will recognize the uniqueness of the City of Owen Sound, while providing clear direction for the City on priorities for the future – informed by the viewpoints of City Council and senior staff, stakeholders and the community.

City representatives will be at community events in February and March. They will be looking to meet with community groups, service clubs and other organizations that have a stake in the future development of Owen Sound.

Comment cards and drop boxes for their return, will be available at the following municipal facilities: City Hall, the Library, the Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre, the Bayshore Community Centre and the Transit Terminal.

An online survey is available at City Hall in the Clerk’s department, or you can access it from www.owensound.ca/city-hall/strategic-plan/2015-review.
