‘It was a great event last night,’ says Bleeding Carrot owner Jim Ansell, who won the 2014 People’s Choice Award at the annual Owen Sound Chamber of Commerce Awards.
More than 300 people were in attendance at the Bayshore Community Centre on Thursday night.The event included a social dinner and entertainment, followed by 12 award presentations.
‘The food was amazing and the entertainment was terrific,’ says Ansell.
‘It sure is nice to be recognized,’ says Adam Taylor, owner of Wave Equipment LTD, who won the 2014 Business of the Year Award (1-25 Employees). ‘It gives the feeling you’re doing the right thing.’
‘We work hard and we try hard, and we’re going to keep trying.’ Owner of land use planning firm, Pioneer Planning Solutions, Clinton Stredwick attributes their winning the 2014 SOHO Award (Small Office Home Office ) to their ‘ability to communicate effectively with clients.
‘The Chamber’s Business Awards are a good way to recognize existing businesses,’ says Stredwick. ‘As well as other business that are just starting up, such as mine.’
