People in this community have asked me to run virtually every day since the last election. I understand that people’s pockets are not bottomless. I will ensure all residents can afford to live here and I would like them to be able to work here too. We need to create an environment in which the public is served by an open, accessible and accountable Council and Administration. I want to be a mayor that listens, understands and works together with citizens to achieve successes in our community.
I work at Interforest in Durham and have been here the past 25 years. I have gained extensive experience working at this International company. We still have a small production and sales distribution at the plant with 35 employees. I bring a private sector business prospective to council.
I am a wife. Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, certified reflexologist, massage practitioner. I am self-employed and had a store front business for 4 years in downtown Meaford.
I’m husband to one, business owner to 2, a father to 4, and grandfather to 11 (& counting.) That’s why I’m running, I have a vested interest.
I was born and raised in the city of Toronto. I grew up in the crowded hustle and bustle of Jane/Finch. If you’ve ever wondered how people can live, work and play together, although not always well, that was the place to see it. I spent a good part of my life living with my family in Las Vegas and also received a diploma from a musician’s college in Hollywood, California.
With all of that, Hanover is by far the best place that I’ve ever lived. The community can’t be beat. I feel proud and privileged to be here.
