I have served the people of Owen Sound, on Council, for several terms and continue to bring forward new ideas and work with others to find workable solutions to our problems. As your Deputy Mayor I will serve you, as I have been doing, on Owen Sound Council and will give you a strong and independent voice at Grey County Council.
The City faces many challenges and financial pressures, including a large infrastructure deficit and the loss of nearly a million dollars in provincial government funding. That will require tough decisions and strong leadership from Council. But as we move forward, we can’t lose focus on what makes Owen Sound great…our sports, culture, parks and natural attractions. I want to continue to build a community that makes Owen Sound a place…where you want to live. Where you want to raise your family. Where your business will prosper.
I was born and raised in Owen Sound and have recently retired. I successfully ran an Office equipment company for 20 years, and then two local area golf courses (Sauble and Chippewa) for the next 22 years before retiring. I raised 3 daughters here in town, but they all moved on to London to pursue their careers as they could not find employment in their chosen fields locally.

I don’t think any of our taxes are a ‘fair’ rate. I believe the entire system needs to be assessed and hard questions asked and big decisions made for the betterment of the entire city. Are we delivering the services promised to the business community?
I worked in communications for 35 years, the last 15 as the owner of my own company. I have been on the Public Library Board for 11 years, 7 as chair; I am on the Hospital Foundation Board and I have been part of the MRI and Cancer Campaigns; I worked on the Rec Centre campaign; and I have been President of the group that saved the Marine and Rail Museum.
I am running on a campaign of community engagement, municipal partnerships, responsible spending, and support for the hospital, college and culture. Owen Sound can be more than it is.
I have lived and worked in Owen Sound for almost 30 years and raised four children, with my husband in the city. I’m self employed and my work focuses on violence prevention, poverty reduction, violence against women issues and affordable housing. I’ve have been on Owen Sound City Council 4 years and am now seeking re-election.
